Stellar Awards Nominees

Atlanta, GA-The nominees for the "18th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards" were announced in Atlanta on October 22. Richard Smallwood received an impressive ten nominations at the press conference. Richard Smallwood with Vision was nominated in the following categories: Artist of the Year (with Vision); Song of the Year; Male Vocalist of the Year; CD of the Year (with Vision); Choir of the Year (with Vision); Producer of the Year; Traditional Male Vocalist of the Year; Traditional CD of the Year (with Vision); Music Video of the Year (with Vision) and Traditional Choir of the Year (with Vision)!

Gospel diva Yolanda Adams was next in line with six Stellar Awards nominations. She was nominated for Artist of the Year; Female Vocalist of the Year; CD of the Year; Contemporary Female Vocalist of the Year; Urban/Inspirational CD of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Adams will also be receiving the Stellar Awards Hall of Fame Award recognizing her tremendous impact and outstanding achievements in Gospel music.

Kirk Franklin and Donald Lawrence received with a notable five Stellar Award nominations, respectively. Franklin was nominated for Artist of the Year; Song of the Year; CD of the Year; Producer of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Lawrence was nominated in the categories of Artist of the Year; Choir of the Year; Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year; Contemporary CD of the Year and Contemporary Choir of the Year.

The Commissioned Reunion received four nominations in the categories of Group/Duo of the Year; Contemporary Group/Duo of the Year; Contemporary CD of the Year and Special Event CD of the Year. Fred Hammond received three Stellar nods for: Song of the Year; Producer of the Year and Contemporary Male Vocalist of the Year.
