IMAGE Magazine Unveils “New Look” at GMA Music Week

  2007-03-13

IMAGE Magazine the Revolutionary Publication for Today’s Christian Youth, has partnered with the Gospel Music Association (GMA) once again as a media sponsor for GMA Music Week 2007. The largest annual Christian music gathering in the world, GMA Music Week will draw an international crowd of over 3,000 industry artists, songwriters, label executives and other industry professionals to the Nashville Convention Center (601 Commerce Street, Nashville, TN 37203) April 21-25th. The event is unique in that it is a virtual “one-stop shop” for all facets of the music industry featuring over 100 artist performances and a myriad of educational seminars for independent artists, radio personnel, retailers, managers, agents, and promoters.

“Our mission is to expose, promote, and celebrate the gospel through music,” explains GMA President John Styll. “There is no other time or place where our industry, reflecting its entire diverse musical landscape, is gathered together to engage in professional development and to hear non-stop music of every gospel style imaginable.”

The partnership also earmarks a milestone in the history of IMAGE Magazine. Its “new look” will be available to GMA delegates in preparation for the publication’s official newsstand release through Ingram Distribution. This notable accomplishment comes just three years after the magazine’s launch in 2004. Since its inception, IMAGE has followed an aggressive marketing strategy that includes partnerships and distribution efforts at some of the largest youth-based events in the world.

“Out of the 11,092 magazines on newsstands, coffee tables, and in doctor’s offices across America, IMAGE Magazine is the ONLY nationally distributed urban Christian teen publication on the market that is committed to redefining urban culture,” says IMAGE Publisher Fatima L. Hall. “We are accomplishing this goal by incorporating positive messages of hope, freedom from religious traditions, and the pursuit of purpose with music, fashion, and social trends that shape popular culture. Therefore, it is an honor for IMAGE to partner with organizations like GMA whose primary focus is bringing people of all races together through the use of one of the world’s most driving forces: music. ”

GMA Music Week 2007 will conclude with the 38th Annual GMA Dove Awards on Wednesday, April 25th at the historic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, TN. Hosted by Brian Littrell, Natalie Grant and Donnie McClurkin, this event is gospel music’s biggest night, as nominated artists and industry professionals are presented with gospel music’s highest honor, the Dove Award.
