Atlanta, GA – Tyscot Records is proud to announce the signing of world-renown leader BISHOP NOEL JONES and The City of Refuge Sanctuary Choir to its roster. A joint-venture of Tyscot Records and Alpha Dog Records will produce, market, manufacture and distribute a new CD “Welcome To The City” to be released June 26th. The lead single “Not About Us” will be sent to radio stations this month. On this up-tempo fiery track, the call & response anthem expresses the reality of praises proclaiming it is not about us, it’s all about Jesus. “Harvest Time” can be classified as the ‘churchy choir’ number as this hand-clapping uplifting song feels like Sunday morning. Then there’s a soon-to-be favorite “Glory To The Highest” delivers powerful brassy horns with its medium tempo radio friendly groove. The CD “Welcome To The City” has something for everyone from the urban fans to traditional to the praise & worship followers. To kick off this grand celebration, Tyscot Records and Alpha Dog Records will sponsor a debut release concert at Bishop Jones’ sanctuary known as the “City Of Refugee” – 14527 South San Pedro Street – Gardena, CA 90248 – June 24th. Deitrick Haddon is a featured guest. “I am thrilled to have Bishop Noel Jones & the City of Refuge Sanctuary Choir join the Tyscot family,” says Bryant Scott, President – Tyscot Records. “It is my hope that this is the first of many more phenomenal projects.” Special live performances of the hit single “Not About You” will be featured on Jones’ nationally televised show “Fresh Oil” airing each Wednesday morning, 7:00 on BET. Tyscot Records is no doubt “Living The Legacy” with this year’s Spring and Summer new release line-up with the top-ten debut SOULFOOD from Urban Gospel sensation Shirley Murdock released a couple of weeks ago – also #1 on the CMTA chart. In the coming weeks, the legacy will continue with: In 1976 Dr. Scott started what has become the world's oldest black-owned gospel recording company, Tyscot Records in Indianapolis, Indiana. Tyscot has been home to many great recording artists, including Rev. John P. Kee and the New Life Community Choir, Dr. Bobby Jones and New Life, Carman, Rodnie Bryant and the Christian Community Mass Choir, The Anointed Pace Sisters, Lucinda Moore, Shirley Murdock, the Gospel Music Workshop of America Men of Worship, Rance Allen and The Rance Allen Group, Bishop Larry Trotter and Sweet Holy Spirit, Deitrick Haddon and Voices of Unity, Morris Chapman, and many others. |
