Duawne Starling debuts Inside Out with G.I. & Christian Records

NASHVILLE, TENN. - Known for his vocal virtuosity, Duawne Starling, who has supported artists such as Michael McDonald, Donnie McClurkin, CeCe Winans, Nicole C. Mullen, and many more through his contribution to their albums, as well as their live performances, will release his debut solo project, Inside Out, on April 20, 2004 through a partnership with G.I. and Christian Records.

"God's timing is the only timing," states Starling. "I've been in the music industry for ten years, but this record could not have been done ten years ago, or even two years ago for that matter. I have been vocally ready for years, but when I assessed where I was spiritually and compared it to where I was vocally, the two didn't measure up. It's important to me to be whole in all areas because the last thing this world needs is just another singer. Now, God is the center of every experience. My goal in doing this project is to enlighten, encourage, and empower the people of God."

Starling's distinctive vocals have been featured on projects for over a decade, and are considered to be among the highest quality in the industry. In his career, Duawne Starling has not only shared his vocals, but has also done modeling for Ebony Fashion Fair, and television commercials. Now, after years of seasoning, taking the recordings of other artists to the top of the charts, Duawne Starling takes center stage to share his own euphonious sound.

Inside Out was produced by Grammy winners Drew Ramsey and Shannon Sanders (India Arie) and Grammy-nominated Roger Ryan (Shirley Caesar). The project features a piano appearance by gospel legend Richard Smallwood. Covering multiple genres, Inside Out contains mainstream songs such as Carried Away, the more CCM suited song Free, as well as the gospel flavored Holy Spirit. Starling wrote eight of the twelve songs included on the album.

"Having Duawne Starling chose G.I. is huge," says Carlin J. Alford, CEO/President of A&R for G.I. "His album release is long overdue because his body of work reflects the fact that he could have had a deal almost anytime and anywhere he wanted. If this were the NBA draft, I'd have to say we got the #1 pick."
