An Unforgettable Inscription |

“But Zion said, ‘The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me’.
And The Lord replied,
‘Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.”
How powerful and awesomely comforting to know that the very essence of our being is inscribed in His own being. It’s an awesome comfort to know that by engraving us on the palms of His Hands, He has (1) written, printed, carved and engraved our names in a most powerful extremity, and that (2) He has entered our name on a register (or in the Lamb’s book of life). The geometric definition for “engrave” is: to enclose a polygon (a closed plane figure bounded by 3 or more lined segments) within a closed configuration (the arrangement of the parts or elements of something) of lines, curves, or surfaces, so that every vertex (the highest point of anything) of the enclosed figure is incident on the enclosing configuration. In other words, our phenomenal Father has engraved us to an extremity that He uses to enclose a solid figure (you) bounded by 3 or more sides (the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) to arrange our parts and elements in such a way that as we yield our use for Him, He becomes our high point (vertex), and He delivers us from the hand of our enemies, that we might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life (Luke 1:74). And once delivered from our enemies, we are delivered to an eternal life where Christ is seated at His right.... hand (Colossians 3:1). Approximately 900 years before Jesus walked the earth, David (a man after God’s own heart) desired to fall into the hand of a merciful Lord, rather than to fall into the hand of man (2 Samuel 24:14). David knew that it would be God’s right hand to hold him up (Psalm 18:35) through every adversity and triumph he would experience. When we get the revelation of understanding just what a powerful God we serve, that’s when we will begin to take our proper place of dominion in this earth and walk in the boldness that we are armed with by the shield of faith, and that right now, today, God has our very name so easily accessible in His embodiment.
This is when we will walk in the power of His might, knowing that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us; knowing that no weapon formed against us will prosper; knowing that we are the head and not the tail; knowing that He takes joy in our prosperity; knowing that by His stripes we are healed; knowing that if God is for me, who can be against me; knowing that He has forgiven me and I’m blood-bought with a cost; knowing that there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus and walk not according to the flesh; knowing that each and every one of us has a purpose to fulfill in this life, and that what God has given, no man can take it away.
Not only has He given us His covenant, His Son, His Spirit, His written promise to never leave or forsake us, His Healing Hand, and not only does He continually leave His gates open to give us our needs and desires, but our Father in Heaven has inscribed YOU on the palms of His very hands.
What more could a Father do for His precious child? What more can YOU do for your Father?
“But Zion said, ‘The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me.
And the Lord replied,
‘Can a woman forget her nursing child, and not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands.”
Let us pray.
Dear Father,
Forgive us Father when we don’t recognize that as easily as we see the lines deeply engraved in our own palms, we neglect to engrave Your Word in our hearts to know and believe that You hold us in Your very hands. If we can’t forget such an incision in our own flesh, pardon us in thinking that You could forget us engraved in Yours.
Your Word says, “For You are the Lord, You do not change” (Malachi 3:6). We give You honor and praise that you are the same God who has sustained and supported us thus far, and that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in us (Philippians 1:6). Bring to our remembrance the confession of the hope we have in you, for we believe that You who has promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).
In Jesus Name we pray,
