Real Christian Men Do Not Prey

As we examine the social dynamics of the Church and Christianity, one vital statistic that is obvious, blaringly apparent, and hard to hide, is the sexual composition of both groups.  While it is evident that the American Church is largely comprised of females, the same observation can be made of the collective Church, world-wide.  Although this fact serves notice for the need of more male participation within Body of Christ, it also should cause us to focus on an alarming, ever-growing malady within our ranks. This sickness unleashes a controlling spirit, which is running rampant in the Church, and wrecking havoc in numerous local assemblies.

The disproportionate ratio of males to females within our general society is magnified as we examine the demographics of the Church.  This disparity, and the subsequent conditions that accompany it, has contributed to an out-of-control sensual environment within the citadels of Christendom.  This is largely due to the existing competitive atmosphere which is presently due to the absence of available Christian men, and the overabundance of single Christian women.  When this is coupled with a relaxed standard of holiness, the results are catastrophic.

These conditions of imbalance, along with a relaxed standard of holiness, have created Christian men who have become predators.  To prey means to victimize, stalk, track, pursue, shadow, haunt, or otherwise hunt.  Christian men have become guilty of hunting vulnerable, emotionally and financially weak Christian women, within the Church, whom they can take advantage of; with the ultimate goal being fornication or adultery.  The Church has become cast in the likeness of going to “the club”, looking to get hooked up.  We have allowed our sisters to be put on display and paraded in front of our men; so that men can choose who they want to “get with”.  Shame on us!  Since when do we condone targeting the weaker sex for abuse, oppression, and disrespect? This must stop!

Although the sisters have a part to play in this scenario, they could never entice men if men would not tolerate that kind of behavior in the Church.  If men decide not to prey on the sisters, but to pray for their sisters, then the Body of Christ will become healthier.  When men decide to affirm the women instead of exploiting them, then we will begin to reproduce healthy spiritual children, instead of rebellious generations; who invariably have a total disdain for Christianity.
