A Man's Godly Character In The Home Part 2
Written by William David Phifer for 3V Magazine

Spousal abuse has become a huge problem in the world, as well as in Christian marriages. Some are physical abusers. Some are emotional abusers. You may never use your fist, but the power of your tongue can be an emotional time bomb (Proverbs 18:21). Remember the negative things that are said cannot be put back. The things you say can be a positive or negative impact on the move that God has in her life.
Remember society is watching us, they label us as unloving, cold, distant louts who do not care about our children or wives, and care only about their carnal pleasures. I know that most fathers and husbands work hard to bring home a living, and care about what happens at home. Most seek to discipline their children out of love and not with a perverted sense of cruelty.
Therefore, my Godly Character brothers, as the world watches us, we should remember to be the right examples before our families. You cannot tell our children that they need to attend church, and not to drink, smoke, or take drugs, and partake of them ourselves. Are you preaching one thing and living another?
As Godly fathers and Royal Priests you must show leadership, lead your family in church attendance, bible study, and prayer. You must avoid anything that would pollute your home, for example alcoholic beverages, sexual books, magazines, tapes, or questionable television programs. As husbands we must honor our wives and try to understand them. This is essential. You must build unity and nurture her. We must provide all that our wives need to blossom as a wife, mother, or friend. Be the defender, which is what the man must clearly become.
Finally my good brothers, I leave with you: A FATHER'S BEATITUDES Blessed is the man that receives the Heavenly Father as Lord of his Life. Blessed is the father that will lay down his life for his wife and children. Blessed is the father that offers to wash the dishes and tend to the baby, so mother can have a break, even after his long day at work.
