We have lost a legend. Gospel great Bishop Walter L. Hawkins went home to be with the Lord after a 2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Our prayers and support go out to Edwin Hawkins, Lynette Hawkins-Stephens, Tremaine Hawkins, his son Jamie Hawkins(Walter Hawkins Jr.), his daughter Trystan. I was such a fan of his writing that I recorded two of his songs, Try Christ and I Love You Lord, on my own CD. They said Michael Jackson was the King of Pop — Walter is like the King of Gospel to me."
